Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday
I finally put myself in Time Out! My bloggy friend Heather over at Theta Mom came up with a brilliant proposition: Take one hour each week for yourself, to do whatever you please--without the kid(s)! I'm going to strive to take my Time Out each week, and I hope you do too!
Last weekend, I got together with my friends Beth and Lisa and we went to Smithville, New Jersey for Oktoberfest. The best part of fall is all of the great festivals to go to. I love walking around and breathing in the cool, crisp air--of course it was HOT last weekend, but I survived. Tons of crafters and artists to distract me and good company to enjoy, sans husband, sans baby. Just me and the girls enjoying a lovely afternoon. Of course, I did buy the most precious apple hat for my daughter; It was only $6.00 and I couldn't resist! I had such fun and despite the crowds, I got a lot of peace from it. Nice to take an afternoon (or even an hour) to unwind and get ready for the week ahead!

Good for you!! I need an afternoon-- weekend-- er maybe a week...
ReplyDeleteOMG! Love Oktoberfest down in Smithville...my entire family still lives down the shore and my brothers and my parents still go every year! They take the kids to ride the train and I always loved the Christmas Shoppe. Walking around down there in the Fall weather and having some of that awesome beer is a perfect way to spend a time out! So glad you linked up and spent your time out Penny-Pinching Mama! You rock!!!
ReplyDeleteFall festivals are the best. And what a good mommy time out! Here I am thinking and plotting taking my Baby DIVA to all the festivals, when really I could be planning a girls time out! thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI am new to mommy time out. I LOVE it. come on by and read about my nightclub cardio adventure!

There's something so comforting about fall and their festivals! It sounds like you had a great time--I always love the goodies they have to offer!
ReplyDeleteGood job Heather! It sounds like a lot of fun! For the first bit of time I always have to adjust and stop missing my kids, but even if I miss them the whole time I realize it did me a lot of good to get away!
