When registering for the baby shower, we think of strollers, carseats, diapers, clothing, toys and many other items that I probably could not name no matter how hard I tried. Sometimes, the most important necessities are overlooked. Speaking for myself, I hadn't realized there was a need for tracking feedings, diaper changes and naps. While holding my new baby girl in the hospital, the nurse informed me that this was standard practice. If I had continued reading all of my expecting mom guidebooks, I might have discovered this. But frankly, I grew tired of reading and was too busy dealing with pelvic pain, nausea and heartburn to pay them much mind. If I had the Baby's First Journal by Glow Baby at my fingertips, those chaotic first few months at home would had been a little less...chaotic!
Glow Baby was founded by Lindsay Harris who resides in Toronto, Canada. While caring for her toddler and newborn daughters, Lindsay recognized the need for a user-friendly tool to help her keep track of her newborn's daily schedule. Lindsay decided to create her own log, and her third baby, Baby's First Journal was born!
Lindsay sent me a copy of the Baby's First Journal to look over. The journal allows you to not only track your baby's feeding schedule, but also has areas for recording start/finish times, length of feedings, breastfeeding details and quantity. The chart also features columns for diaper details, sleep schedules and checkboxes for medications and baths. In a space below the log, there's an area for any notes you'd like to keep. This would be a great area to jot down concerns and/or some of baby's firsts!
The journal also contains a growth log and a few pages for your contact information. It has just enough room to list your doctors, lactation consultant, hospitals and friends. I would recommend this journal to any parent. I'll be saving my copy for future use, God willing.
If you are expecting, you must check out Baby's First Journal. If you're not but you know someone who is, this would make an excellent gift! Lindsay Harris will be launching more great scheduling products to help new families very soon. I'm looking forward to seeing more helpful tools for Moms and Dads!
