There is a lot of leather in this household, from furniture and auto upholstery to leather jackets and shoes. We like the look, feel and durability of the material. So, we filled our family room with leather furnishings before our daughter came along and smeared her soggy cookies and spilled her milk all over it. The idea was that leather was also easy to clean. One swipe with a damp cloth and you're done, right? Wrong. No matter how many times I wiped it down, it wouldn't become completely clean.
