Presto Cool Touch Tilt’N’Drain BIG Griddle (CSN Stores Review)

CSN_Stores_Logo.gif Aside from the fact that it takes forever and a day to make a batch of pancakes using a single skillet, it’s difficult to cook them properly.  As the pan gets hotter, the pancakes cook (and burn) faster and the batch ends up being a collection of cooked just right, undercooked and overcooked pancakes.

We have a fancy stovetop griddle pan but since it relies on the heat of two burners, it doesn’t cook evenly.  It’s also too narrow.  We’ve tried using our panini press with the griddle plates attached and it cooks food evenly but the surface is entirely too small.  I’ve found the same to be true for many other electric griddles I’ve considered purchasing, except for the Presto Cool Touch Electric Tilt' N' Drain Big Griddle offered at CSN stores.

Cool Touch Electric Tilt' N' Drain Big Griddle This griddle has the largest cooking surface I’ve ever seen, measuring in at the generous size of 18 1/2” x 15”.  I was able to cook a whole batch of pancakes at the recommended 350 degrees and every single one was cooked to perfection in a short amount of time.  I think it took longer for us to eat our breakfast than it took to mix the batter and cook it.

The non-stick surface really works well.  Without even using cooking spray I was able to scoop up each pancake without any sticking.  Safety is always a concern for me, and my daughter seems to grow an inch each day so I really love the cool touch rim that surrounds the hot griddle to prevent burns.  It’s also a nice feature for me, because I’m always burning myself.

The Tilt’N’Drain feature is perfect for cooking meats, and there is a slide-out drip tray to collect the fat so you don’t have to chew it.  I always line these types of trays with tin foil to make cleanup even easier.  I love the temperature gauge and the instructional pamphlet that came with the Presto Cool Touch griddle includes a handy guide for helping you set the appropriate temperature for the food you’re cooking.

024 Ease of cleaning is another area where this product delivers.  With the heating element removed, the cooking service can be fully immersed in water.  I’m not a fan of having to wipe down appliances, so it’s nice to be able to wash this one in the sink along with our other dishes and pans.

My family will be enjoying many more big breakfasts (and dinners) from this point forward!  The Presto Cool Touch Electric Tilt' N' Drain Big Griddle has a list price of $84.99 but it’s on sale at CSN stores for $49.99

No compensation was received for this post, but I did receive the product discussed in order to facilitate my review.  All of the opinions above are 100% my own.
