Tell us a little about you!
I'm a mom of teenagers, one girl and one boy, married for 18 years and counting. I married in college and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts majoring in Interior Design. By the time I graduated I was pregnant with our fist child. I always felt that it was important to stay at home with my children and 9 months after our daughter was born I found out I was pregnant again. So with two young children I needed an outlet.
When did you start your craft?
I began crafting so I wouldn't go stir crazy. I've also love to work with my hands so I started by decorating my house, painting, tiling, etc. (my husband calls me the freek of nature when I put his gas grill together without the instructions). I started with making flower arrangements, went to paper crafts and making my own cards, making Christmas ornaments, jewelry, drawing and now sewing. I made some of my clothing in high school, all without a sewing machine. I loved "Pretty in Pink". I can not seem to stop creating and I really love to make new things. Over the years my friends would say "why don't you sell your stuff and then you won't be limited in what you create". So I started selling. I have found what I truly love and I can't wait to get to my workroom every day.
It certainly shows in her work. Jane sent Emma these adorable corduroy overalls. The colors are perfect for fall, they're warm (I've been searching high and low for corduroys) and cute! Everything a mother wants when choosing clothes for her child. I continue to be amazed the talent and value that can be found on Etsy - buy handmade!

ReplyDeleteI would choose the Dramatic Colored Dress (size 9mo). It's so cute! I think that having items in different sizes would be good, because what if you find something you really like, but your kid's outgrown that size already? Bummer!

I think size options would be nice
I follow you cuz I love you! and I love the dramatic colored dress 9 months. I think having more than one size is nice, but still be open to customizations. For example, we call our baby ladybug so it is neat when someone can do that for us. a

I follow! I would choose the New Brown Houndstooth Flannel Day Dress. It says it is 3T, which would work for us, but if I had a choice I would choose it in 4T.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of one-of-a-kind items, but I would say that they should be offered in multiple sizes because otherwise lots of people would miss out on things that weren't the right size for them.

I would LOVE the Patterned Owl Overall in 2T for my toddler (and of course I'm following you)!
ReplyDeleteI like that Mamma Jane offers one-of-a-kind items, especially since I have two kids with differing ages. That way, I'd be able to find a little something for both of them!
