MEandREEKIE: Review & Giveaway!

In the MEandREEKIE shop on Etsy, you'll find the most precious and comfy baby booties, hats and jackets.  Shop owner, Maria has lived on the beautiful Central Coast of California for 30 years.  She's just getting started on Etsy, but has been a seamstress most of her life; she makes everything from hats to wedding dresses!  She's got four children, the youngest just starting high school and has had the same two best friends since kindergarten - now that says something about a person!  She really is a lovely lady with an interesting story - read on:

When did you start your craft?

I have been sewing since I was very young, 6 or 7.  I don't really remember NOT sewing :) When I was bored, my mother would send me down to the basement to look through magazines for something to make - and I would!  When I was in 8th grade, I crocheted my graduation dress, my mom didn't know that I knew how to crochet! I studied costume design in college and designed costumes for the stage. When my son was born, I started making children's clothing - and I haven't stopped yet :)

Do you have any other hobbies?

Well, I have a pretty full life, but I love to run in the mission near my house. It is beautiful, peaceful and I get some of my best thinking done there.

Maria sent Emma a pair of Lavendar Booties and matching Reversible Hat.  The booties have ultrasuede bottoms and elastic around the back so you're able to get a few more months of use as your child grows.  Both the booties and hat have a ivory blanket material on the outside and are lined with soft lavendar fleece.  Check out the jacket that matches. 

Let me tell you, these items are so well made and look at how cute they are on my little monkey! :)
