My baby is 10 months old today! Everyone told me this would happen. How on earth did it happen so quickly? It feels like just yesterday that I brought her home from the hospital, all 8 pounds of her. I was in such pain healing from an episiotomy that should have been, high on pain meds and constipated. Ah, good times!
Yesterday we were at church and saw a teeny 3-month-old baby sitting in the row in front of us. I got all teary-eyed, remembering those exhuasting yet wonderful days that were. The 3am feedings, bathtime in the kitchen sink, bouncy seats and a LOT of coffee. Well, the coffee part isn't too much different from now. :)
I'm very proud at the beautiful toddler my infant has become, but also sad that she's grown so fast. I'll miss when she always wanted to be cuddled, but I am also looking forward to the days and moments ahead. Now she's starting to talk, walk and eat regular foods with her five teeth. She says Dada, and grins at me and raises her eyebrow when I ask her to say Mama. She claps her hands and waves goodbye and squeals in delight as I chase her around the room.
As I watch her learn and develop, I'll try to soak up each day and remember all that I can. Because I know that before I even know it, I'll be looking back fondly on today and missing the toddler days.

ReplyDeleteIt is definitely amazing at how quick the time goes by. When I come across pictures of her in the early months I almost wonder if that really happened because of how long ago it seems. I look at her now and am bewildered at this crazy little girl who is here. How did this happen and who is she going to grow up to be?

Awww...I know the feeling! They grow up so fast! Enjoy every moment of them being little. However, the older years are great too! :)
