Oompa Toys - Review

Milanie Cleere was disgusted by the commercial, mass-produced toys that her daughter had been playing with. When visiting Europe, Milanie found just what she was looking for: Classic toys made of natural materials, that would foster her daughter's imagination. She knew that other parents would appreciate these types of toys, which is why she founded Oompa. Oompa is an online specialty retailer offering fun toys, gear and furniture that you'd be proud to bring into your home.

Clicking around on the Oompa website, I fell in love with so many things. And I love how the site is organized. You can search by product category or even the country it was made in. Looking for a neat toy made in Denmark? No problem. With an extraordinary site like this, you'd think the prices would be out of this world, too. But thankfully, the items are priced well.

I have the same views as Milanie regarding the cheap mass-produced toys made in God-knows-where and sold here in the U.S. Many of Emma's toys do all of the thinking for her, and she quickly tires of them. We were lucky enough to receive the Lunch with Friends from Djeco, which is basically the coolest tea set I've ever seen. Actually, it's more than a tea set, it's a complete lunch for two. The toy was made in France, and includes a table with complete place settings and even includes little loaves of bread and napkin holders. This is one of those toys that is classic and will last several generations. I love watching Emma use her imagination, the very beginnings of pretend play.

I will definitely be shopping with Oompa Toys again.

BUY IT! Oompa Toys prides itself on excellent customer service, has a 30-day return policy and even a rewards program! Shipping is free on most orders of $65 or more.

No compensation was received for this review post. Oompa Toys sent us the Lunch with Friends tea set and I offered my honest opinion. Yours may differ.
