Lately, I've been dining on more healthy foods in an effort to shed a few pounds and to develop better eating habits. This includes eating proteins like grilled chicken, fish, and lots of ground turkey. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun, does it? Needless to say, I'm always on the lookout for low calorie marinades and sauces to add some pizzaz to our lean meats. Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce is a delicious way to dress up meals without adding many calories.
The sauce is gluten free, and is made with the following ingredients: Tomato concentrate, (tomato paste and water), vinegar, corn syrup, sugar, molasses, salt, onion powder, caramel color, garlic powder, tamarind, corn starch, natural flavors, and other spices. I love that the nutrition label is provided right on the website.
The other night, I cooked turkey burgers using lean ground turkey, a pouch of dry onion soup mix and about 1/3 cup of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. I pan-grilled the patties on low and in a few minutes I smelled the Country Bob's sauce as the burgers sizzled. Yum! I couldn't wait to try them.
After the patties cooked through I assembled our sandwiches and added another dollop of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. I balanced out the meal with frozen veggies and a little bit of macaroni and cheese. It was a scrumptious low-calorie meal for me, and when I asked my husband if he liked it he responded with, "Mmm, a lot!". Which means it was a great meal. I think next time I'll add fresh chopped onions to the meat instead of the soup mix to reduce the added sodium.
BUY IT! The gift pack would be a great Valentine's Day gift!
WIN IT! Two readers will each win a bottle of Country Bob's All-Purpose Sauce!
