SPOILERS AHEAD!! STOP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN "LIGHTHOUSE"
Finally, we got a new episode that seems to be moving us forward, but it also raised many more questions. For instance, how is it possible that in the alternate reality our losties still see evidence of what would have happened on the island? We've seen a few examples of this with Jack. First the dart-mark on his neck and now in "Lighthouse", he noticed the appendectomy scar from the surgery he didn't perform on the island. Wait. What? I'm so confused, but I still love it!
Breaking news: Jack has a son named David! This has to be all alternate reality. It's sad that Jack started their relationship by acting like a typical high-pressure Sheppard male, but I'm glad he committed himself to changing that by pledging unconditional love for his son. Doesn't it seem like the island time, though it did not happen, is somehow impacting everyone's lives?
It was also neat to see Dogen and his son in at the piano recital. Dogen is a force, whether temple leader or daddy. I wouldn't want to mess with him.
At first Claire seemed somewhat like herself. That is, until she killed the temple guy and announced her kinship with the smoke monster. She must stink to high heaven!
Thoughts/Questions:
- I want that Tic Tac Toe game that Hurley and Miles were playing.
- Is the woman in the picture with Jack and his Dad the mother of David/Jack's ex-wife? That didn't look like Sarah.
- It does seem like Jacob is not opposed to lying/manipulating situations (like we saw in "Lighthouse"), though I still think he is good.
- I hope Claire and Kate don't run into each other on the island, because Claire will kill her if she discovers she took Aaron.
- Did Claire know she was losing her mind when she appeared to Kate about not bringing Aaron back?
- Is it me, or did some of the trees in the jungle look bloodied?
- The lighthouse thing was cool! How the heck did Jacob watch the candidates when they moved?
- What's up with Sawyer? Someone mentioned he might be pulling a long con on smoke-monster Locke
Hurley was on fire tonight:
"I'm a big fan of temples and like history and Indiana Jones stuff."
"I'm a candidate and I can do what I want."
"You already made me write down way too much stuff and I just lied to a Samuri."
"Thanks for the seven years of bad luck, by the way."
"He just appears like Obi Wan Kanobi."

Claire totally abandoned her baby...so I don't understand why she is so upset with anyone for taking him. She just wandered off and hung out in the cabin with Christian. Weird...
ReplyDeleteI agree that Dogen is a force. And a hottie! :D Thanks for crushing my dreams in my recap...I knew it would be you! j/k. I loved this episode, I like what you said that the island situations (though they seem to have not occured) have all changed our Losties for the better.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we finally go to see something about Claire this episode. And Jack has a son? I never saw that coming. I'm wondering who the mother is. The blue eyes make me think it's Juliet. Who can tell though! I'm excited that apparently they're going to start answering some questions next week!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this episode, mainly because of all the delightful Hurleyisms.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure David's mother is Sarah since he's a teenager and they weren't married that long--but, hey, anything's possible on this show. I thought the photo was a younger Jack, his dad and his mom.
I agree that in many ways their non-Island lives seem better.
Claire needs a makeover and some anti-psychotics.
I hope I'm in the right place? Couldn't find a place to click on until I went to OLDER COMMENTS.
ReplyDeleteI DO think I would like the
