There are children's videos available in almost every store you shop anymore. Even at the supermarket. Those $2.00 bins are hard to resist, but usually you do get what you pay for.
I was so excited to watch the Emmy Award-Winning DVDs by Juno Baby. We were sent all three, Way To Go Juno, Juno's Rhythm Adventure and Indie's Great Teddy Bear Hunt. These videos are amazing. They use a combination of puppetry, animation and video of real live kids, and it all melds together so perfectly. I love watching the river glisten in the background - it is really beautiful!
We own other popular puppet-learning DVDs. You know the ones, they're supposed to make the babies smarter. But to be quite honest, it's a snooze fest whenever they're on. Emma is completely bored watching them, and frankly so are we. The difference with Juno Baby is in execution. They really knocked it out of the park and truly exceeded my expectations.
Did I mention the music? The videos feature compositions by classical greats like Mozart, Brahms, and more as well as composer Belinda Takahashi, Ph.D., the Juno Baby Cofounder and Chief Creative Officer. The upbeat music and puppet "performances" are fun for the entire family.
No Compensation was received for this review. Juno Baby mailed me the DVDs in order to facilitate my honest review - I love them! Your opinion may differ, but that's highly doubtful.
Hmm. I won one of these and after watching about 2 minutes of it, E turned to me and said, "You turn this off now, Mommy." Even my little one wasn't impressed. I've only seen positive reviews of them though, maybe my kids are just the odd ones! :)
