American Plastic Toys Enchanted Beauty Salon from CSN Stores (Review)

CSN_Stores_LogoAt this point in her toddlerhood, Emma is starting to do a lot of mimicking.   She likes to copy the things we say and do - the good and the bad!   When I’m cooking on the stove she runs on over to her play kitchen to do some pretend cooking, and when daddy is vacuuming the floor she likes to assist using her own cleaning supplies and elbow grease.  I like to fuel the fire in her imagination by getting toys for her that aid in her pretend playing.

iN 004That coupled with the fact that she seems to be outgrowing many of her toys directed me toward the pretend play area of the CSN stores website.  There were so many toys to choose from there, but eventually I decided to apply my gift code toward the purchase of the American Plastic Toys Enchanted Beauty Salon with Sounds.  It arrived rather quickly, and though it involved a fairly extensive assembly, my husband was able to put this together one evening after Emma went to bed.

The morning after, she woke up and ran over to sit on the seat and look in the mirror.  I was kind of jealous – I don’t even have a vanity, and hers has cool sounds too!  It is very light and I am going to have to weigh it down with something because it does topple over on her when she leans on it in the slightest way.  This is the one con about this product, but since the $60.00 price tag is on the low side for a larger toy set (believe it or not), I didn’t expect it to be perfect.

The beauty salon sounds are really neat. When you remove some of the items from the blue base, you get to hear them.  Like the hairdryer, for instance.  It sounds like a real hairdryer in use.  The set came with lots of accessories like barrettes, combs, headbands, curling iron, cell phone and so forth.  I did remove the lipstick and some of the smaller accessories that I felt may be a choking hazard.  This toy was designed for children age 3 and up.  Overall, we’re satisfied with our purchase of this mini beauty salon.

No compensation was received for this post.  I was given a gift certificate which I put toward the purchase of the American Plastic Toys Beauty Salon in order to provide my honest opinion.

  1. That is really cute. I am looking for something for my daughter for Christmas - she loves putting on makeup etc (which is funny as she is otherwise kind of a tomboy). Thanks for the review.
