rethinkcrafts Diaper Cover Review {& giveaway}

Cynthia lives in Hood River, Oregon in the Columbia River Gorge with her husband and three children. Last year, Cynthia decided to leave her job as a teacher and stay at home.  After realizing she needed more diaper covers than her her diaper service provided, she started making her own to use on her son and to give to friends.  She then made them available to the public through her shop, rethinkcrafts.

Waste not, want not. Cynthia tells how she does her part, "I am passionate about the environment and strive to use every bit of the fabric and supplies I have so that I create little or no waste. With the scraps from the cloth diaper covers I made reusable snack bags, headbands, scarves, stuffed animals. You name it! I am even using my scraps to make my first quilt." 

I tried cloth diapering for a day just so I could use this adorable Cow Print diaper cover.  This was my first experience using a cloth diaper, and I have to admit it was not as scary as I had thought.  I used a cloth diaper inside the diaper cover, as shown in the photographs in the rethinkcrafts listings.  I had been using cloth diapers as burp cloths until now.  I like this design better than the pull-on types.  It is lined with a layer of waterproof polyurethane laminate and is secured by strong velcro.  She did have a leak, but that happens with regular diapers, too!  I myself will continue using disposable diapers (don't hate!), but I'll save this cover in case she gets a diaper rash or if I just want to cover her disposable diaper in something cute!
